Summer Programing

June – August: 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM daily

Home Away from Home

The summer program is as much like home as possible. We have a class for preschool-age children between 2 ½ – 5 years old and two classes for school-age children. The classes are structured enough so that the children enjoy classroom activities and outside play, including water play and field trips. Preschool-age groups will venture to the local library and one other field trip each week during the summer program. School-age children will experience at least three or more weekly field trips to local venues. Grand Rapids YMCA summer swim lessons, dance lessons, and elementary tutoring are offered through the center at an additional charge.

Food Service

The Preschool and Child Care Center participates in the State of Michigan Child Care Food Program and follows all guidelines set forth by the State of Michigan concerning nutrition, menu planning, serving sizes, and preparation. The center employs a nutritionist who plans and implements all meals. The nutritionist consults with a registered dietician monthly to ensure all Michigan Child Care Food Program guidelines are being followed closely.

Each day we offer breakfast at 8:30 am, a morning snack, hot lunch at noon, and an afternoon snack. All snacks consist of at least two of the four food groups, while breakfast and lunch consist of all four food groups at each meal. All food costs are included in each child’s daily care cost.
